Inspired by the sculptural beauty of a silhouette of a city skyline the Pianoalto is part of Zanotta's modular sofa range. Thanks to a series of inward-positioned legs and an integral base the Pianoalto range appears to be suspended in space, while the combination of backrests and large format cushions providing maximum comfort. Ergonomically mirroring the contours of the body, this combination of foam, quilted inserts, and fibres make the back and armrest cushions resistant to deformation and highly comfortable.
Stemming from the mind of Milanese designers Ludovica & Roberto Palomba, the Pianoalto is a modular design that can be configured in a variety of different ways. Configuration 3 is defined by an extended pouf which connects to one end of the sofa.
Roberto Palomba and Ludovica Serafini have worked together since 1994, as architects and designers. As partners, they have designed furniture, developed numerous architectural projects, designed sets for theatre and film, created costumes and prepared cultural exhibitions.
At present, they collaborate as designers for some of the world's most respected design-driven companies including Zanotta and Foscarini. Their Zak sofa is a clever combination of creative intelligent design, minimalism and fresh ideas to form a fun and contemporary new classic.
