This lavishly realised rug is the latest addition to the iconic Quaderna family of Zanotta goods. Featuring the familiar grid pattern that runs through the range, the carpet is highly distinctive and is certain to gift any space with a sense of creativity and style.
Available in a choice of sizes, and carried by an unorthodox six-sided design, the carpet sits well whether placed horizontally or vertically and can even be used as a decorative wall-piece. The piece is instantly evocative of the period in which Superstudio was at its most influential, with their eccentric, unusual designs setting the tone for the maximalist design of the era.
Superstudio are a collective ounded in Florence in 1966, comprised of Adolfo Natalini, Cristiano Toraldo di Francia, Gian Piero Frassinelli, Alessandro, and Roberto Magris, Alessandro Poli. The group contributed theory and designs to the radical architecture movement.
Between 1973 and 1975 Superstudio belonged to Global Tools, with the group participating in several Triennale exhibitions and in 1978 organized a show of its own at the Istituto Nazionale d'Architettura in Rome, while major retrospectives of their work have taken place at New York's MOMA and the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. The collective are best known for the Quaderna series of objects.
