Designed in 1957, proudly remaining part of Zanotta's collection, the 200 Sella Stool was originally designed as a ‘telephone stool' for unusual postures and occasional seating. An actual bicycle saddle has been mounted onto a stainless steel column, supported by a heavy hemispherical base, creating a bold design that embodies a striking ‘dynamic balance’. The pink finish, reminiscent of the pink jersey worn by the winner of the Giro d’Italia, adds to its playful, sculptural profile. Designed to be able to be placed all over the home, the 200 Sella Stool transforms traditional seating into an exciting experience of balance and poise.
Two of the most important industrial designers of the 20th century, Achille Castiglioni & Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, have successfully collaborated to produce a number of iconic Italian design pieces.
Both accomplished architects and designers, the pair have forged an unrivalled relationship with the design world.
