Featuring the same undulating curtains of solid wood as the dining table, Laufer & Keichel’s coffee table is a masterpiece of modern design, using sophisticated manufacturing techniques to create the precise curves of each wave. The machine replicates the intricate precision and attention to detail of a master artisan.
The base is then sanded and oiled by hand, bringing the motion to life. The sides are paired with the solid wood tabletop, an expansive canvas for the natural grain of the wood. Despite its size, the chair appears to elegantly float above the floor, radiating a sense of calm and permanence.
LÄUFER & KEICHEL is a creative partnership between Julia Läufer and Marcus Keichel. The pair have been collaborating since 2003 and their design studio is located in the centre of Berlin.
Focusing on sustainable design solutions, they have produced furniture designs for clients including Lammhults, Lapalma, Offecct, Thonet, Zeitraum and others.
