The dressing room checklist
We all deserve a little bit of luxury. Whether your home is spacious or compact, our dressing room checklist will help you to create a space that is always dressed to impress.
The dressing room. A luxury room to have within your home that will greet you first thing in the morning and last thing in the evening before you sleep. The dressing room can provide a personal sanctuary, a space to personalise and tailor to your daily needs.
Whether you’re refreshing your existing dressing room or designing from a blank canvas, we’ve compiled our checklist to help you create the perfect dressing room, crafted to offer all that you need in your daily routine. From dressing tables and suitable storage to mood lighting and accessories, we have tips to guide you.
The focal point
If like us, you are someone who likes to start their day with a regime of skincare and beauty, an essential part of your dressing room design is finding the perfect dressing table. Not only can it help toward your daily routine, but it also stores personal possessions too.
Consider a finish to suit your colour palette, how much space you have and where it will be best placed for you to have the best of both – natural light and that provided by your favourite table lamp.
Getting organised
Storage within the dressing room should be personalised to you. Your lifestyle, the volume of clothes and accessories you own, and your aesthetic style will all inform your choices.
Some of us like clothes out of sight, others like to display by colour, hanging free for ease of access. A stylish clothing rail can save on space, or our String storage solutions are ideal for those looking to personalise, giving everything its place.
A little luxury
If you are lucky enough to have space for a dressing room in your home, we believe you should make the most of the little luxuries on offer. Make your dressing room a haven of comfort with a plush lounge chair or by adding layers with a soft rug for cosy toes underfoot.
Enhance the sense of relaxation with a scented candle, or by bringing in a favourite house plant or two. It’s completely up to you!
From day to night
From shadowy mornings to bright afternoons, choosing the right lighting is key to allowing you to make full use of your dressing room. When considering how to light your dressing room, we always find it useful to think about the following three types of lighting – ambient lighting, task lighting and statement lighting.
Firstly, choose a pendant light that will bring ambient light to the whole room, providing brightness on dark mornings or evenings.
Next, consider your task lighting. This could be a floor lamp, table lamp or wall light that provides you with direct illumination where you need it most – no one wants to be doing their hair in the shadows!

Cosy or minimal?
The dressing room is a personal space and should be designed to your liking, think of it as your intimate escape from the outside world. Everyone’s style is different, and it is entirely up to you whether you are looking for a clean and sleek aesthetic, or you’re more of a ‘fill every square inch of the room’ kind of person. Make this a room that truly reflects you.
