One of just a few designs by renowned architect Viggo Boesen, the chair embodies a welcoming yet compact design, winning instant praise at the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers Guild Exhibition, as well as at exhibits in New York and Berlin when it was first introduced. Named ‘Little Petra’ after Boesen’s mother-in-law, the chair’s petite frame and beautifully curved backrest create a cosy, cocooned seating environment, allowing for ultimate, reclined relaxation. Upholstered in a range of organic colours and soft materials, the stunning lounge chair warmly embraces and stylishly impresses. Also available, the &Tradition Little Petra VB2 Sofa and matching ATD1 Pouf.
Danish designer and architect, Viggo Boesen, came to prominence in Denmark during the 1930s. His work came to reflect what was known as a 'funkis' style, an abbreviation of the Swedish term, 'funktionalism', which referred to the architectural and design concept of 'Functionalism'. The movement represented stripped back, purposeful design, an ethos that is still at the core of contemporary Nordic design today.
Only a few of Boesen's designs were ever produced, such as Little Petra, but his distinguished, soft and organic approach came to be influential for decades that followed.
