Infused with historical sentiment, the Guild Shelf was originally made in 1954 for Peter Hvidt’s home in Klampenborg, Copenhagen, gracefully echoing the curving paths of the family’s garden and inspired by Hvidt and Mølgaard’s desk design which featured at the 1951 Guild Exhibition.
The shelf’s pared-back, organic form has been reissued for a wider audience, adapted to suit contemporary living and sensibilities. Made using FSC-certified oak or walnut with circular design principles at its core, the HM14 is an ideal display and storage solution for compact rooms and the wider HM15 serves as a decluttering aid in larger domestic and contract spaces.

Peter Hvidt (1916-1986) and Orla Molgaard-Nielsen (1907-1993) were pioneers of Danish mid-century design and the founders of Copenhagen-based firm Hvidt & Molgaard.
Renowned for the simplicity of their works, the duo established a simple and precise aesthetic designing countless pieces of furniture over the years, many of which became icons of the era. Today, their work can be found exhibited at MoMA, Melbourne’s National Gallery, and Copenhagen’s Design Museum.
