Part of Cadovius’ ROYAL SYSTEM® shelving family, originally designed in 1948, the shelving designs were one of the world’s first wall-mounted furniture systems; a truly groundbreaking design that is one of the greatest Danish furniture successes in history.
The Two-Shelf configuration is a compact, space-saving piece that can be mounted almost anywhere in any room in the home. Perfect for displaying books and decorative accessories, the shelf is available in a range of natural wood finishes, finished with elegant brass brackets that create a beautiful contrast in texture and material.
Poul Cadovius was born in Frederiksberg in 1911 and was originally trained as a saddler and upholsterer. He was a colourful and successful designer with a marked influence on the Danish furniture industry and furniture design - both in his own time and later. In 1948, Poul Cadovius designed the shelving system ROYAL SYSTEM®, which through the 50s, 60s and 70s perhaps was the largest furniture success Danish furniture industry has ever had. Poul Cadovius died in 2011 at the age of 99, during his life he managed to register over 400 individual patents, and we are proud to ensure that his legacy lives on.
