Created by Ramírez i Carrillo, the Copernica floor lamp's design is defined by the elegant tilting frame, creating a gliding soft movement through space; easily adjusting to different sitting heights and room sizes. A planetary-like sculpture is created through the use of different circle shapes and bars; instigating thought on the importance of the relationship between light and space. The graceful and tactile light is a stunning focal point in a room, perfect for standing tall next to a lounge chair or sofa; lighting up space from a variety of positions. Also available in the Copernica collection: a matching table lamp and an upright model.
Ramírez i Carrillo consists of two well-established lighting designers from Spain. Meeting in 2001, Jaume Ramírez and Josema Carrillo created their own studio producing their first design, the Delica collection of trays. Winning multiple prestigious design awards such as the Gold Delta Award, Ramírez i Carrillo moved to Barcelona in 2005. Here they started working with Escofet to develop a branding and communications strategy, designed the exhibit for the 2007 and 2009 Delta Awards and built the identity of Parklex, which they are still working with to this day. Since 2014 they have been based out of both Barcelona and their new studio in Milan, working for Marset, Arcos, Normann Copenhagen and Mobles 114.
