When Swedish interior magazine, Skona Hem, asked its readers to vote for “one piece of furniture of the 20th century”, they chose the Lamino Easy Chair, designed by Swedese’s founder, Yngve Ekstrom. A stunning piece of timeless design, the inviting high-backed lounge chair beautifully supports the user in a soft, comfortable embrace.
Upholstered in a range of Skandilock Sheepskin finishes, the innovative design embodies the beauty of nature’s materials and its creator’s masterful craftsmanship.
Yngve Ekström was born in 1913 in Småland, Sweden, where the country’s oldest furniture factory was situated. Ekström started working in the factory at the age of 13.
His talent for carpentry gave him a unique feeling for materials and construction. With colleagues like Alvar Aalto and Arne Jacobsen, Yngve Ekström was part of the post-war modern movement that made the concept of “Scandinavian Modern” world-famous.
