Nielsen designed the Vipp pedal bin for use in his wife’s hair salon in 1939, with the enduring nature of the piece leading to it being given a place in the permanent collection at New York’s MOMA.

Over time, the iconic bin design and studio gained popularity in Denmark and remains a family-owned business to this day. Notably, in 2009, MoMA included the Vipp Pedal Bin in its prestigious design collection.
