The shell seat, which is now made from recycled materials, was designed by the Eames to fit the shape of a body human perfectly, negating the need for upholstery. The DAR RE is available in a collection of bright colours that simultaneously pay homage to the chair’s rich heritage but remain modern and well-suited for the 21st Century home.
DAR stands for Dining Height Armchair R-Rod Wire Base, and follows the comprehensive design coda of the complete range, which offers a wide variety of different Eames shell chairs with diverse bases.

The Eames’ first partnered with Vitra in 1957 to produce some of the most iconic pieces of furniture in the history of interior design.
