Lightweight and stackabl, the Landi Chair is a robust and weather-resistant piece that relies upon the technical innovation and systematic use of materials pioneered by Coray upon its introduction. Minimalist in form and carrying an understated elegance, the Landi has become a recognised classic over the years, and looks as fresh and vital today as ever.
After studies at Zurich University, Hans Coray (Switzerland, 1906-1991) began his career as a figurative artist. He is best known, however, for his design of the Landi chair, which was exhibited at the Swiss National Exhibition of 1939. His other furniture designs include upholstered and wire seating as well as aluminium chairs and tables for the Wohnbedarf store in the 1950s.
