Showcasing Caprani’s exquisite attention to detail, the GUBI Timberline Floor Lamp is a carefully considered design that juxtaposes natural and man-made materials. The playful curve of the lamp’s oak and birch stem expertly blends form with function to create a head-turning piece of design, perfect for any room in your home.
The neutral colours of the white canvas, natural wood, and cast iron make the lamp incredibly versatile, able to drop effortlessly into any environment.
After training as an electrician, Micheli Alessio “Mads” Caprani joined renowned lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen. Whilst there he worked with the leading lights in contemporary design, including Arne Jacobsen, Poul Henningsen, and Verner Panton.
Proximity to these design visionaries awoke Caprani’s interest in design. Although initially he never intended to become a designer, his curiosity, ambition and natural talent transformed him into one of the 20th century’s great designers. In 1967, Caprani’s father acquired the Rotaflex lamp factory. By 1979, Mads had taken over from his father, changing the company’s name to Caprani Light, leading it to international acclaim. Although Caprani Lights is no more, collaboration with GUBI has exposed a new generation to his iconic designs.
