Italian architect, designer and photographer Carlo Mollino was born in Turin in 1905. He received a degree in Architecture in 1931 and went on to have a highly diverse career covering architecture, design, interior decorating and town-planning. Among his other accomplishments, he designed a wide variety of modern furniture of all types and even invented new kinds of furniture.
His production made him one of the design icons of the 1950s. One of his most iconic pieces is the elegant and streamlined Cavour writing desk which is produced by Italian designer furniture brand Zanotta.
